Your Special Invitation from Denise Pelley and Scott Good
Enjoy some of the most romantic jazz, pop and orchestral music written in a program filled with tender emotions that will go straight to your heart.
Love songs by Stevie Wonder, Hoagie Carmichael, Burt Bacharach and many more performed by London’s incomparable Denise Pelley, original poetry read by Roy Lewis, and romantic orchestral favourites such as the Adagietto from Mahler’s 5th Symphony (originally written as a love song to his wife), will make this evening unforgettably special.
If music be the food of love, then this concert will be a feast. Make it the centrepiece of your Valentine’s Day plans!
Local legend Denise Pelley discusses how preparing to sing with an orchestra differs from singing with a band and how she makes songs her own with Andrew Chung, Artistic Producer of London Symphonia. Scott Good, curator, arranger and conductor of Love and Romance with Denise Pelley discuss how Roy Lewis' poems informed his choice of the great orchestral music that London Symphonia musicians will perform.
