with Scott Harrison, conductor and Tom Allen, narrator

If you are looking to introduce someone to Canada, instruments of the Orchestra or the Science of Zoology, this is the show. With narrations by the voice of Canadian Music, Tom Allen and timeless music by Canadian Abigail Richardson-Schulte and Camille Saint-Saëns, Fanshawe College's TV studio will transform before your very ears (and hopefully eyes) from hockey rink to wildlife sanctuary in the space of a joyful evening.

Pull your favorite hockey jersey out of the closet or hockey bag for a musical adaptation of one of Canada’s favorite children’s stories, The Hockey Sweater by Roch Carrier. Canada’s own Abigail Richardson-Schulte’s original composition has been performed to excited audiences from coast to coast. CBC Radio host Tom Allen narrates this heartwarming tale that takes us from small town Québec to Montreal’s famed hockey arena.

Then we’re off to the zoo for Camille Saint-Saëns’s The Carnival of the Animals. This humorous piece which Saint-Saëns considered too silly to be published in his lifetime features music by other famed composers reincarnated as lions, donkeys, molluscs and a whole host of animals. This amazing ménagerie has been delighting audiences of all ages for almost a hundred years.
