With guest artists Martha Henry and Rod Beattie, and tenor Bud Roach
Due to the circumstances around travel at this time, Suzie LeBlanc’s The Long Way Home, originally scheduled for March 13th, will have to be postponed. We look forward to hearing the story of Suzie’s profound connection to her Acadian roots in the Fall of 2021. In its place, we are pleased to present By the Sweet Power of Music.
It was Shakespeare’s belief that, when our “spirits are attentive,” the power of music is a force for change. London Symphonia’s players, steeped in the traditions of Historically Informed Performance, invite you to be transformed by ageless masterpieces of the baroque era as immortal texts of life, love, and humanity work their magic at the end of a long winter. Rod Beattie and Martha Henry will share reminiscences and insights from The Tempest, A Winter’s Tale, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Measure for Measure that highlight Shakespeare’s fascination with the transformative power of great art, and in particular, music.
