London Symphonia, Your Partner in Music Education

Nurturing a passion for music with learning opportunities for all ages, in person and digitally

London Symphonia Schools Programs offer students of all ages a range of opportunities to experience the magic of orchestral music at school by joining us at an open rehearsal, attending a concert, or at school through our small ensemble performance program and in the classroom through our digital programs.

Experiencing live orchestral music can be transformative. Give your students an experience they won’t forget!

Open Rehearsals (Grades 7 - Grade 12)
Attending an open rehearsal enables students to experience London Symphonia onstage as the musicians prepare for a concert. The Q & A session at the end of the rehearsal is a great opportunity for them to interact with musicians and sometimes, even a composer or guest artist. Open Rehearsals take place at Metropolitan United in downtown London from 9:30 to 11:30 am on the following dates: Friday, October 13, Friday, January 26, Friday, April 5 and Friday, May 3. Free admission.

To arrange for your students to attend an open rehearsal, simply complete the Open Rehearsal Registration form by OCTOBER 31ST, 2023.

Performances in Elementary Schools
Students love it!  We received rave reviews in February 2023 when 1,400 students heard our Brass Quintet perform at seven schools over three days in a program that included a diverse range of music by Canadian and French composers, marching band and Dixieland jazz and even a singalong of “Let It Go” from Frozen.

The 45-minute interactive performances are geared to the grade levels attending. Each ensemble member introduces their instruments, and explores music as a language that can communicate stories and emotions. We will be announcing a new set of tour dates for 2023-24 in the fall. Cost $500 per school.

FREE Tickets for Children under 12 for 2023-24 Concerts

We are delighted to continue to offer free tickets to children between the age of 6 to 12 accompanied by an adult.

Digital Education Series for Elementary Schools – Available FREE to TVDSB AND LDCSB Teachers

London Symphonia has produced seven digital modules for teachers looking to use music to enhance primary level curriculum delivery in their classrooms. Developed by our Education Consultant, each module includes a teacher’s guide, video and a related activity to introduce students to orchestral music while making connections across multiple learning disciplines. This project was created in partnership with the TVDSB to meet Ontario's primary level curriculum requirements.
