London Symphonia’s Code of Conduct
London Symphonia is committed to providing an environment that is welcoming, inclusive, respectful, and free from harassment and discrimination, in compliance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Occupational Health and Safety Act. We believe that diverse and inclusive organizations foster collaboration, creativity, and innovation, which are qualities essential to our success, sustainability, and the well-being of our people and communities.
All musicians, staff, volunteers, and audience members are expected to:
- Be considerate and respectful in speech, actions, and interactions.
- Respect the personal boundaries and dignity of others.
- Refrain from harassment, bullying, discriminatory comments or conduct, sexual harassment, threats, or any unwelcome behaviour (verbal, physical, or written).
- Avoid inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome attention.
- Refrain from violent behaviour, intoxication, or disruptive conduct, including disturbing rehearsals or performances.
- Not bring prohibited items into our venues, including alcohol, illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, or weapons of any kind.
- Not smoke or vape inside performance or rehearsal spaces.
Reporting and Support
If you experience or witness harassment, discrimination, or a violation of this Code, please report it promptly to the nearest staff member or designated contact. All reports will be taken seriously, addressed in a timely manner, and kept as confidential as possible. London Symphonia prohibits any form of reprisal against individuals who, in good faith, raise a concern or participate in an investigation.
