London Symphonia with conductor Matthias Maute
Joseph Haydn was awestruck by the genius and unbridled energy of his young protégé. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart deeply respected the boundless creativity of his elder mentor. Together, Haydn and Mozart forged a deep bond that influenced the course of music history. They even liked to play together!
This concert, led by Montreal-based conductor, composer, and recorder and flute player, Matthias Maute, explores the musical friendship that developed between these two icons. Our program includes movements from their most famous symphonies and string quartets, along with a performance of Mozart’s beloved Symphony No. 41, Jupiter.
Meet conductor Matthias Maute for a preconcert chat about Mozart and Haydn from 6:30-7:00 pm.
